Preparing to bring your puppy home

Crate:
If you plan on crate training, we would reccomend having prepared and ready for your puppy prior to their arrival. The ideal crate for a Portidoodle puppy would be a metal crate. As the puppy gets old they can be very strong and may break the plastic crates.

Playpen:
If you do not want to use the crate method, the puppies here are trained with a playpen. It is important for a puppy to understand they have their own space where they can sleep, eat, or spend alone time. This is important to practice separate time if they puppy will be home alone at any point.

Food/ Water Dishes:
please have these ready as your puppy will need frequent food and water breaks to continue to regulate their sugars until they are older.

Toys:
The Portidoodle puppy loves to exercise, help, learn and be attentive. learning toys or puzzles are an essential item to have ready for your puppy. This will also help with training.
